For The Egoscue Method, SBSI helped build an entirely new business online and integrate it with their existing offline business processes.
The Situation
During the late 90's, online commerce was a new hot market with great potential. To stay competitive many companies attempted to take their business online to engage this new emerging market.

The Client
The Egoscue Method is a Postural Therapy program which involves a series of stretches and gentle exercises. It is designed to treat musculoskeletal pain without drugs, surgery, or manipulation, enabling you to live a pain free and active life.
The Egoscue Method started as a domestic company, which expanded into an international one. The Egoscue Method has clinics in twelve states as well as the United Kingdom, Mexico and Norway. In the original business model, The Egoscue Method preferred clients visit its brick and mortar clinics to perform Menus -- a variety of exercises to alleviate various pains they have acquired.

The Problem
At the onset of the online store front craze, The Egoscue Method thought that an online application would provide added convenience to their existing clients and enable The Egoscue Method to reach a broader audience. But how do you transform a clinic-based business model and sell exercise Menus online?

Where SBSI Comes In
The Egoscue Method realized early on that converting their unique business to an online product would be no easy task. Additionally, The Egoscue Method wanted to start small with a scalable solution to see if the online model made sense before expanding to a full fledged product. Starting small at the time (Dot.com craze) was not a concept that other IT companies would entertain. When SBSI answered the RFQ, not only did SBSI come in with a lower bid than the competition, but also with an experienced team of business analysts that immediately suggested ideas to help convert the clinic business to one online.

The Solution
With the expertise of SBSI’s programming team, coupled with The Egoscue Methods vision, a solution was on the horizon. This solution employed both SBSI’s (a) Business Automation unit and SBSI’s (b) Managed Services unit. With an online community in the making, now The Egoscue Method is free to worry about their clients instead of an electronic headache.

(a) Business Automation: SBSI created a program capable of not only providing access to The Egoscue Method's staff and services, but also able to train potential employees. This application consists of: a relational SQL Database, complex business requirements, n-Tier DNA compliant Architecture/Design, detailed reports, online store with real-time credit card processing, multi-level personalized membership, dynamic content and content management/WYSIWYG content editor.

(b) Managed Services: SBSI’s Managed Services unit built a scalable, load balanced, server farm for the initial product. SBSI then went on to deploy additional server per the client's request for various other requirements. The server farm includes front end edge web servers, and backend relational database servers, user management and backup servers, along with mail servers. Additionally, the Managed Services unit handles the 24/7/365 environment allowing The Egoscue Method to focus on their business.
